Abstract
A control system for an induction motor drive with a pulse-amplitude-modulated (PAM) inverter is described. The stator voltage is controlled as a vector quantity on the basis of a decoupling approach. The principle of decoupling control, the determination of the voltage, and the flux regulation are discussed. Numerical and experimental results are given for an induction motor drive with low acoustic noise, which is obtained by the proposed method. It is shown that fast response is possible even with the PAM inverter.<>
