Abstract
The high geometric continuous blending surface blending surface reconstruction is very important to various CAD/CAM application systems. This paper proposed a new method to reconstruct G4 continuous blending surface with Bezier patches. The method and algorithm is based on the Gn necessary and sufficient conditions in the geometric continuity theory. The free shape parameters in surface blending are introduced to control the shape of the surface. By modifying these shape parameters, the shape of the blending surface can be modified interactively. The numerical experiments have demonstrated the method have perfected reconstructed G4 continuous blending surface. The method and algorithm can be directly popularized to the higher order geometric continuity for surface blending. It can be used in various CAD/CAM application systems
