Abstract
Summary form only given. The authors argue that to determine who is responsible for environmental cleanup, it is necessary to examine one´s obligations to present and future generations. If one has an obligation to provide an Earth which is not polluted beyond use, then one is obligated to correct one´s mistakes. It is contended that one must clean up existing hazardous waste sites, control air pollution, reduce the use of nonrenewable natural resources, insure that further hazardous sites are not created, develop new and different technology to reduce the amount of waste produced, and change one´s lifestyle as necessary to accomplish these goals
