  • Abstract
    This paper presents a novel approach to programming wireless sensor nodes using a graphical programming development environment, LabVIEW. The graphical programming approach used in LabVIEW, popular as a software development environment for PC systems, is extended to embedded applications and sensor nodes, complete with debug and download tools. A modular sensor node platform, Cubix, provides a flexible, programmable target for embedded LabVIEW. Cubix is a modular platform designed for wireless, distributed sensor applications, with options for local sensing, acquisition and logging, data processing, and communication
