Abstract
An outstanding problem is how to distinguish and process contradictory knowledge in knowledge processing, especially in fuzzy knowledge processing. This paper proposes that knowledge research should differentiate between contradictory concepts and opposite concepts in knowledge, and that find a character of opposite concepts, that is, there is medium concept between the opposite concepts if and only if opposite concepts are fuzzy concepts. Five kinds of contradictory relations and opposite relations in distinct concepts and fuzzy concepts were confirmed, and some properties of them were analyzed. Furthermore, this paper uses the medium predicate logic MF and the infinite-valued model Phi of MF to study these concepts and relations, get the conditions of processing of five kinds of relations, and discussed the flaws of mathematics and logic. The results show that medium predicate logic MF and infinite-valued model Phi of MF are an effective theory and method for the contradictory knowledge processing and opposite knowledge processing
