Abstract
Gives a treatment of the unified principle of dynamic programming for nonlinear optimal control in deterministic and non-deterministic settings. The author demonstrates that there is a notion of the "smoothness" effect in the stochastic case and that results appear stronger than in the deterministic case. The author addresses key issues concerning the advantages of the non-deterministic environment and possible applications
