  • Abstract
    Multiple pulse position modulation (MPPM) offers higher capacity and throughput than the equivalent PPM and ON OFF Keying formats. An original spectral model is presented and used to analyse the timing performance of the format. Original results are presented for self-synchronisation and the effect of timing jitter. The selection of the system parameters that optimises self-synchronisation is addressed
