  • Abstract
    This paper presents a scalable scheme for efficient and smooth JPEG 2000 image/video transmission over wireless channels. The proposed system relies on an adaptive bandwidth estimation tool to select the suitable JPEG 2000streams layer and resolution. A Wireless JPEG 2000 (JPWL)compliant Forward Error Correction (FEC) scheme is used to ensure codestreams protection against transmission errors. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed system with a wireless JPEG 2000 streaming client/server application.
