Abstract
The development of smart grid leads demand side management more opportunity and challenge, the advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) will make more DSM projects possible. A demand side management model based on AMI for smart grid is proposed; the model consists of a metering infrastructure, two-way communication network and application software works at the user side and control side respectively. The subsystems and the interaction among them are described. In this model, the terminal consumer distributed energy resource was considered. The model will enhance the interaction of consumers to power supply side, provide an important basis to the smart distribution system load management and adjustment, and distribution markets.
