Abstract
In the past few years, CPI has developed and built several new multi-MW peak, pulsed klystrons. The applications require narrow-band, high efficiency sources. These devices share common rf circuit and mechanical design philosophies. Their large stature necessitated new approaches in design and construction techniques to achieve success. The application of these large devices are large scientific accelerator projects and a high-altitude weather radar.
