  • Abstract
The start currents of self-excitation of traveling- wave tube (TWT) on a backward wave in view of an electron beam expansion in a dynamic mode are calculated. Efficiencies of self-excitation suppression by jump of pitch of a TWT slow-wave structure (SWS) with normal dispersion (ND) along all length, by jump of pitch and dispersion steepness in TWT with abnormal dispersion (AD) in output section, by jump of beam channel diameter and by jump of field phase in both types of devices are compared.
