Abstract
In this paper we present the new algorithm designed to improve the performance of TCP in a network with large link delays like in a satellite network. Proposed algorithm improves TCP performance by adjusting the growth of TCP window size, rather than advertised window, by means of data transfer size. Several simulations are performed to study how different kinds of TCP congestion algorithms behave when compared to our proposed algorithm. By varying TCP advertised window size in all cases, we obtain the impressive results that support our algorithm.
