Abstract
The concept, design, realization and performance of a highly flexible bit synchronizer is described. Beyond bit synchronization for 256-kb/s digital mobile radio transmission, a time delay measurement between the transmitted and the received bit clock is included to localize a vehicle from a stationary transmitter/receiver station. The digital communication is performed by way of a 40-GHz millimeter-wave link established along the experimental German magnetic train system (TVE-Transrapid Versuchsanlage Emsland)
