Abstract
The aim of this paper is to evaluate the design of transformers for feeding non-linear loads. The first analysis is obtained in a theoretical way through the traditional calculations of electrical losses. After that, in an experimental analysis, the addition of losses is obtained for the same condition of current harmonic distortion by measuring the temperature in a transformer prototype. Finally the results obtained, either from theoretical calculations on the basis of laboratory tests are compared, revealing two different ways of approaching the same problem.
