Abstract
In this paper, we propose a novel timing extraction circuit, in which optical photodetector and SAW filter are monolithic integrated on the LiNbO3 substrate. We fabricated the test circuit using film-bonding technology and estimated basic characteristics of test circuit. The timing signal could be extracted when modulated optical pulse signal is received by photodetector. The results confirm feasibility of realizing a chip receiver for optical communication system.
