Abstract
We describe the operation of a four-quadrant electronic controller for a switched-reluctance motor which uses the signals from a three-phase magnetoresistive shaft-rotation sensor to produce synchronized gating signals for the control of stator winding currents. Measurements on a 1 kW machine are presented
