  • Abstract
A theoretical model for a sea ice configuration with rough interfaces is constructed. Ellipsoidal scatterers embedded in the background ice are used to model brine inclusions and air bubbles. Radiative transfer theory is applied to calculate the bistatic scattering coefficients and the brightness temperatures for multilayer sea ice configurations. The rough surface effects are taken into account by modifying the boundary conditions using the small perturbation method (SPM)
