Abstract
One of the most important problems of Concurrent Product Development Process (CPDP) is to handle resource competition due to its concurrence. In this article an algorithm for resource scheduling and optimization is presented based on Design Structure Matrix (DSM) for CPDP. First the aggregate DSM model, the schedule model and the resource model of CPDP are established. Furthermore, the algorithm is implemented by combining the genetic algorithms with the heuristic rules. At last a case study for certain product development process is used to validate the algorithm and the heuristic rules on resource optimization.
