Abstract
Observations show that Na atom can sporadically occur at higher altitude above the region within 80-105 km where they normally inhabit. The formation mechanism of this high-altitude sporadic Na layer is not clear at present. In this study, based on a time-resolved ionospheric gas-phase chemical reaction model, we have surveyed the behaviour of high-altitude Na atoms under the injection of meteoroids or occurrence of sporadic E layer, to explore the formation process of high-altitude sporadic Na layer.
