  • Abstract
    Interoperability testing of heterogeneous business software systems is one of the most important tasks in the process of quality improvement and reduction of operational costs. To guarantee competitiveness and reduce costs, we benefit from relocating parts of the testing process to India. To organize the offshore process and increase efficiency we developed an offshore framework which contains a toolset for standardized test specification methods. Model-based testing provides a systematic, transparent method for deriving, describing and executing tests. This paper introduces the components of the toolset and model-based testing together with its usage. The toolset represents tests on model level and generates executable tests from these. It is based on standardized testing methods such as U2TP and TTCN-3 and operates in combination with UML models. The applicability of the presented toolset is evaluated in case studies in a very large test project: interoperability testing of the CRM system at one of the largest companies in Europe
