  • Abstract
    A 50 MHz surface acoustic wave (SAW) delay line consisting of two interdigital transducers (IDTs) has been fabricated from a thin film of YBa2Cu3O7-δ, a high temperature superconductor, deposited on YZ LiNbO3. The insertion loss measured as a function of temperature shows a large improvement (~12 dB) at the superconducting transition. The IDTs are analyzed using an equivalent circuit model, and the IL is related to the measured sheet resistance of the YBCO film
