Abstract
Granularity describes the relative size and scale, level of detail, or depth that characterizes a thing or a system. It is fundamental for us to communicate our understanding of things or to build useful systems such as software systems. This paper describes how rough set approach is used to model defects in software systems. The approach is applicable to both software quality assurance and software defect prediction, which are fields of research in software engineering.
