  • Abstract
A new procedure is shown that recovers a closed series form in the free space for the Green´s functions pertaining to microstrip structures. The Sommerfeld integrals formulating the vector and scalar Green´s functions relative to a single-layered medium are evaluated on cylindrical surfaces in the free space. In particular, on the cylinder of zero radius, that is the vertical line passing from the horizontal electric dipole source, the Green´s functions are the sum of a Hankel function and a series of Legendre polynomials.<>
