Abstract
We investigated the effects of heater filament current, input voltage, axial tube dimensions, grid resolution, and emission parameters on ICEPIC simulations of an experimental strapped 922 MHz magnetron with axial power extraction and a thermionic, helical cathode (Twisleton, J.R.G., "Twenty-kilowatt 890 MHz Continuous-Wave Magnetron." Proc. IEEE, vol. Ill, No. 1, January 1964). This type of device had not previously been successfully simulated using ICEPIC.
