Abstract
The emission property of cathode in the vacuum election tubes is a standard which measures the performance of cathode. The emission property of cathode is affected by its actual working environment, for example, vacuum, residual gas composition, ion bombardment, oxide layer on the electrode, evaporation and the frequency of repeated exposure to the atmosphere etc. In this paper, the effects of vacuum and the times of repeated exposure to the atmosphere are studied using the water-cooled diode.
