Abstract
A new error-and-erasure decoding procedure that decodes cyclic codes up to the actual minimum distance is presented. This procedure annihilates erasure effects from syndrome matrices and produces modified syndrome matrices that can be used to obtain error locations with an error-only decoding algorithm
