Abstract
A novel nature-inspired technique is used to synthesize fractal random superlattices with custom multispectral filter properties. Fractal random Cantor bars are utilized in the design to reduce the number of parameters required for optimization. A fractal random superlattice is optimized by a genetic algorithm (GA) to exhibit dual pass-bands in the near-infrared regime.
