Abstract
Recently researchers in the field of image processing and computer vision started to pay attention to new ways of analyzing and representing two-dimensional, stationary or moving images, via planar curve evolutions. In fact, any image can be viewed as a set of level curves “evolving” with the height parameter. Even such a simple description is quite useful in a variety of situations. We review some of these curve evolution based algorithms
