Abstract
MANUPLAN and SIMSTARTER are software tools that allow rapid modeling and analysis of manufacturing systems. The benefits of rapid analysis in today´s competitive manufacturing world are discussed. A sample problem regarding decision making for a manufacturing cell is stated, and it is shown how this problem can be addressed with MANUPLAN. The main features of the SIMSTARTER simulation generator are described, and examples of its use for the sample problem are given. These two tools can be integrated with Lotus 1-2-3, SIMAN/CINEMA, and SLAMSYSTEM/TESS with benefits for manufacturing analysis
