Abstract
To improve mobile security and preserve the scarce resources of power and processor capabilities of these clients, this research presents a unique design and proof-of-concept implementation of a hardware-based intrusion protection system module that provides external deep packet inspection server-like security. As a result, the detection and prevention of application-layer-attacks as well as a wide variety of others do not reach the user´s mobile device (or desktop) without an appreciable degradation in performance.
