Abstract
The Charleston Harbor Oceanography Project represents the first operational application of a remote acoustic Doppler current profiling system (RADS) for measuring real-time currents. Real-time measurements of Currents, water levels, and winds are being used for the first application of the Quality Assurance System for the NOAA National Circulation Program. New innovative services, including TIDES ABC and CURRENTS ABC, provide selected local organizations with user friendly access to the real-time measurements. New circulation prediction products will result from the planned application and validation of a two-dimensional numerical circulation model.
