Abstract
The laboratory waveguide transmission system for measuring attenuation of EM waves by fragments of vegetation canopies is described. The measuring technique is discussed. Some preliminary results of measurements for coniferous branches are presented. It is shown that the technique proposed provides reliable data and is rather suitable and easy to obtain continuous attenuation spectra in wide frequency range under direct control of biometric parameters.
