Abstract
A novel calibration method for microwave imaging problems is proposed. The method uses scattered fields generated from an arbitrary incident field measured only at the receiver locations and outputs the scattered fields generated by an ideal two-dimensional line-source. The method relies on the convolutional relationship between scattered and incident fields, as well as an assumed convolutional relationship between measured and modeled incident fields. Examples based on synthetically generated data show that this calibration method generates inversion results that are only slightly degraded from the ideal case (when data are perfectly calibrated).
