Abstract
The use of XML in network management is strongly recommended for portability across heterogeneous platforms. This paper introduces an XML-based configuration management architecture for IP routers. The architecture is based on state of the art protocol Netconf, which is perceived as the most revolutionary solution for configuration management. The proposed architecture relies, apart from Netconf, on XSLT processing of XML documents. The performance evaluation results obtained from the implementation of the proposed architecture are reported.
