Abstract
In this paper, a new approach of pseudo-color coding of gray image based on retina-inspired model is proposed, which uses human visual physiological characteristics. Firstly, the gray image is processed by retina-inspired model, which enhances the edge of the image. Then, the corresponding values of red, green, blue colors are obtained through the transformation from the IHS perceptual space to RGB tri-primary color space. Experimental results show that the proposed method stands out the contour of the image and is coincident for human´s perception.
