Abstract
An improved MUSIC algorithm for superresolution array processing is presented. The approach is formulated as a constrained least square minimization problem. The solution is to find a weight vector which is as close as possible to a predetermined weight vector maintaining a closed flat response over a spatial region of interest and at the same time lying in the noise subspace. The relationship of this approach to other subspace techniques is explored. Numerical results are presented to illustrate the performance achievable
