Abstract
The strategic importance of the supply chain view is growing in situations where companies experience intensifying cost competition and rising customer sophistication. E-innovation platform is an efficient innovation process designed to encourage and expedite innovation in the real-time, distributed and tightly networked marketplace. This paper first reviews the main academic theory and industry application on E-innovation. Then a chain-based framework is set up that can be used to understand and map the underlying structure of E-innovation platform in the supply chain management in terms of culture platform, supply chain platform and information platform. Finally this paper introduces Haier as a case to illustrate the E-innovation platform
