Abstract
Reliable and secure management of data collected from remotely deployed sensors is critical to the operational success of any sensor deployment. The Remote Deployment Framework (RDF) is a general purpose framework design based on a service oriented architecture and implemented using Java enterprise technologies. The framework supports the collection and transportation of data from sensors which have been deployed in remote locations via heterogeneous aggregators to a central location in a secure and managed fashion. The RDF has been utilized for ambient home monitoring and the remote monitoring of COPD patients.
