Abstract
This study examines superconducting claw motor that has new structure of superconducting rotating machine. Claw motor has unique magnetic pole like claw. Thus, the magnetic flux distribution is complex and the theoretical analysis is difficult. So we analyze the machine using finite element electromagnetic field analysis software. In this paper, making easy shape analytical models, and characteristics are found by changing armature winding method and the rotational speed. Also, optimization of the claw pole geometries is carried out using the specification of the fabricated prototype machine. These analyses are mainly focused on the efficiency in generator operation.
