Abstract
In modern high power gyrotrons high-order volume modes are excited. This demands quasi-optical mode converters with large dimensions compared to the wavelength to convert the cavity mode into a fundamental Gaussian beam. With today´s computer performance one is able to enhance simulations for quasi-optical mode converters to three dimensions. In a single step it is possible to calculate the behavior of launcher and mirrors using the electric field integral equation. In this paper we show the feasibility and first results on a TE28,8 140 GHz mode converter.
