Abstract
This paper presents novel compact cavity resonators which are suitable for multilayer technology. A new method of folding multilayer cavities is introduced. Footprints can be reduced to at least 1/10 by this folding method. Full-wave EM simulation is carried out to identify the unusual mode characteristics of the folded cavity. External and internal coupling strategies are also be proposed. At last, a 3-pole LTCC cavity filter is designed and fabricated for concept-proof.
