Abstract
In this paper, a PWM inverter-fed Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) Drive System for Hybrid Vehicle is modeled considering battery with two quadrant chopper in order to step up a voltage of the battery. Using the step-up chopper, a capacity of the battery can become smaller, and regenerate power under braking. The drive system is controlled by Maximum Torque/Ampere Control strategy. In order to avoid sudden discharge of the battery, a Electric Double-Layer Capacitor (EDLC) is used to charge to the battery at constant current. The validity of the model of the drive system is confirmed by simulation results.
