Abstract
Introducing automated connection control and user network interfaces in transport networks enables other network operators (bandwidth distributors) with no own transport infrastructure to build up a network with dynamically leased lines adapted to their current demand. To achieve minimal line leasing costs this paper presents new methods for a leasing price model, that consists of a line setup fee and a fee per leasing time. Analytical calculations for a single link and simulations for an example network demonstrate that with optimized line holding times and intelligent routing rules the leasing costs can be reduced significantly.
