  • Abstract
In this paper, we introduced a two-layer spreading CDMA (TLS-CDMA) system with overlap cut frequency domain equalization to seek higher throughput in uplink systems. The proposed system utilizes block spreading to combat multiple access interference (MAI) while frequency spreading removes residue interchip interference (ICI). Cyclic prefix (CP) is commonly inserted to mitigate inter block interference but it reduces the throughput. We evaluate the throughput performance of a TLS-CDMA system that does not employ CP insertion but instead relies on overlap cut frequency domain equalization (FDE) to mitigate inter block interference. The simulation results shows that the proposed system performs better in terms of system throughput.
