  • Abstract
    In this paper, a novel batch scheme of jointly performing blind equalization, carrier recovery and timing recovery for short bursts is presented. The algorithm embeds the timing recovery process inside the blind equalization process. It extends the cost function of modified constant modulus algorithm which accomplishes carrier phase recovery, to estimate and handle timing offset. The equalizer coefficients and estimated timing offset are iteratively updated in open-loop batch approach, because of that, the algorithm is suited for short bursts and can achieve fast and smooth convergence performance. Simulation results show the performance of the batch algorithm for joint blind equalization, carrier phase recovery and timing recovery.
