Abstract
A 3D stereometric impulse SAR imaging method is introduced. It combines stereoscopy method with the impulse SAR (ImpSAR) technique to form a 3D image of a target with high resolution. ImpSAR data were processed in the 2D wavenumber domains based on the Fresnel approximation to form slant range images. The wavenumber shift filtering and image registration are carried out on a median plane instead of ground plane to obtain better matched 2D images. The common objects on the two images are identified using range correlations with given thresholds. Those identified common points, with their spatial coordinates determined, are displayed in a Cartesian coordinate as discrete scattering points. 3D ImpSAR images of different targets using measured data are presented.
