Abstract
A methodological approach is presented, to extract information on biochemical indicators of productivity (chlorophyll, CO2) of decomposition state (cellulose) of Venice Lagoon macroalgal vegetation using Landsat/TM spectral bands. Based on previous correlation analysis between spectral indicators, drawn from TM bands, and in-situ biochemical observations, the approach is based on the generation and on the selection of spectral indicators, at a certain image acquisition date. The indicator selection procedure is based on the information theory. From in-situ measurements, the selected indicators are correlated with dominant biochemical parameters
