Abstract
This paper explores the application of a simulation-based scheduling algorithm to generate unload schedules for processing feeder trailers in a parcel consolidation terminal. It compares the performance of iterative improvement and simulated annealing to produce quality schedules. It reports the results from a number of experimental test problems.
