Abstract
Portable ultrasound scanners are available today and have the potential for becoming very useful for emergency use. This paper presents a wearable voice-activated ultrasound scanner system, suitable for field-deployment purposes. The design of an appropriate speech recognition interface for controlling the scanner is also presented. The goal is to identify the ideal combination of noise canceling microphone and speech recognition engine to make the voice command detection reliable in noisy environments.
