  • Abstract
Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex (BIPC) has 4 electric synchronous and induction motors in medium (6.6 kV and 3.3 kV) level. Stability of this network is affected by many subjects. One of them is main transformer neutral grounding system. In this time, it is solidly grounded. But studies for modification of it has done and it changes to resistance grounding. Frequently short circuit faults in 66 kV level, in addition to high fault currents, cause voltage drop on 66 kV and medium voltage levels. This imposes high unbalance voltage on motors terminal voltage. If grounding system changed, voltage drop can be reduced. This paper describes BIPC medium voltage motors behavior in 2 different grounding systems
